Currently, Delhi Capitals (DC) are hosting Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 54th game of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Feroz Shah Kotla. After winning the toss, the RR skipper, Ajinkya Rahane chose to bat and his decision back-fired as Rajasthan lost as many as 4 wickets in the powerplay itself.

During the toss, the DC skipper, Shreyas Iyer revealed that they have made a couple of changes to the squad as J Suchith and Chris Morris made way for Ishant Sharma and Keemo Paul. On the other hand, RR also made a couple of changes as Steve Smith and Jaydev Unadkat made way for Krishnappa Gowtham and Ish Sodhi.

Rajasthan lost their skipper in the 2nd over of the game as Ishant outplayed him with a slower ball and Shikhar Dhawan took a comfortable catch at fine leg. In the next over of the Ishant, RR lost Liam Livingstone as well as the bowler cleaned him up on the penultimate ball of the over. However, a huge mix up took place between Mahipal Lomror and Sanju Samson on the second ball of the 5th over of Axar Patel which ended in the dismissal of the latter.

Patel delivered a ball outside the off-stump to Samson, who pushed it to cover for a single, but as soon as he started running for a single, Lomror sent him back but Samson kept running. Soon after that, Prithvi Shaw grabbed the ball immediately and too his own sweet time to throw to the striker’s end and Samson had given up. It was an absolutely bizarre dismissal.
