However, Ben Stokes had perfect revenge later on during the T20 Blast. He took on Carlos Brathwaite during the match between Durham and Birmingham. This time Durham defeated Birmingham Bears by 22 runs and Ben Stokes made headlines with his return after his injury.

However, it was his first game since his finger injury in April when he was playing for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and got injured as well. Meanwhile, he made 29 off 18 balls, took a wicket and a catch as Durham registered their fourth win as well.

Durham put up a huge total of 185 for 4, courtesy of a brilliant 76 not out of 53 balls by Bancroft. Stokes hit a six over long-on off Tim Bresnan and also smashed four boundaries in his 18-ball cameo too.  However, in the second innings, Stokes bowled a very economical spell and helped his side to defend the total. He picked up the wicket of Sam Hain and ended his with a figure of 1-20. Birmingham Bears could only manage to score 163-8 in their allotted overs.

However, Ben Stokes is one of the key players of England and his return will give a boost to the team. Currently,  England is playing against Sri Lanka at home in the limited-overs series where they already have a 2-0 lead in the three matches T20I series. After the end of the shortest format, they will play the ODI series next before taking on India in the five-match Test series in August at home as well.

Apart from these, the ICC T20 world cup will take place in the UAE later this year. And, England are one of the favourites to win the title as well as they are currently the number 1 team in the T20 rankings as well. And, the return of Ben Stokes can provide them with the chances they are looking for in the tournament as well.
