After winning the toss, the MI skipper, Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. However, the visitors started on a decent note as both their openers, Rohit and Quinton de Kock came out all guns blazing.

Rohit and De Kock added as many as 57 runs in the powerplay. But on the first ball of the 7th over, the MI skipper was dismissed by Amit Mishra. Surprisingly, Cutting came out to bat at no.3 and he also got dismissed in the 8th ver by Axar Patel.

Surya Kumar Yadav was building a partnership with De Kock but only managed to add just 12 runs for the third wicket as some huge confusion took place between the two owing to some brilliant fielding display from Kagiso Rabada.

On the penultimate ball of the 10th over, Axar delivered a length ball outside off and Yadav played a cut shot towards the point region where Rabada grabbed it with a dive and flicked the ball back towards Rishbh Pant. On the other hand, Surya took a step or two down and De Kock committed for a run, but his partner turned his back, resulting in both batsmen at the keeper’s end. Pant then relays the ball to Axar who breaks the stumps and the MI openers had no option than to go back to the pavilion.
