David Warner has hilariously sledged his Australian teammate Glenn Maxwell who was doing a commentary during the Big Bash League match between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades. However, Maxwell has been doing commentary for BBL after being ruled out of the competition after sustaining an injury in the leg in November last year. He is on the road to recovery and could be expected to be back in action during the IPL.
Warner, on the other hand, is playing in the BBL after the Test series against South Africa and is representing the Thunder in the mega event. During today’s match between the Sydney franchise and the Renegades, he had a mic on him and was talking to the commentators when he decided to sledge his Australian teammate as well.
David Warner asked if Maxwell would ask Australia coach Andrew McDonald for a break after his stint as a commentator in the BBL as well. He would cheekily congratulate Glenn saying he was doing a good job also. Maxwell sarcastically said that it was good to see Warner give back to the game, which left everyone in the commentary box in splits.

“Is Maxi going to ring up Andrew McDonald and ask for a break after this commentary stint? He has been there a while and he is crosscoding as well. It’s one of these things we laugh about but Maxi, you’re doing a great job mate,” said Warner. “It’s good to see Davey giving back. Doing this for the love of the game isn’t he?” said Maxwell.

“It’s surprising, you get let go from your franchise and you get a lot more after being released,” said David Warner.
