Currently, the Indian team is locking horns with Bangladesh at the VCA stadium in Nagapur for the third and final T20I of the series. After winning the toss, the Bangladesh skipper, Mahmudullah decided to bowl first citing the hosts lacking in the ability to defend the total. The host made one change as Manish Pandey came in the squad instead of Krunal Pandya. However, the visitors had a forced change as Mossadeek Hossain has to miss out and Mohammed Mithun replaced him.

India didn’t have the best of chances as they lost both their openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan inside the powerplay. However, Kl Rahul and Shreyas Iyer then decided to take the onus on them as they amassed as many as 59 runs for the third wicket before Rahul getting out in the 13th over after scoring 52 off 35 balls.

After Rahul’s dismissal, Iyer also brought up his maiden half-century. He reached his fifty off just 27 balls that included five sixes and one four. In his innings, Iyer also hit three consecutive sixes off spinner Afif Hossain in the 15th over. After 15 overs, India were 129 for the loss of three wickets and looked on top of the game. However, Iyer as dismissed in the 17th over as he smashed 62 off just 33 balls. Still, India managed to register a total of 174/5 in their quota of 20 overs.

Bangladesh had the worst of the start as they lost Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar in two consecutive deliveries of the second over of the innings bowled by Deepak Chahar. Das was dismissed when he the ball truck in the air over the leg side but Washington Sundar was near the boundary line and did a split while completing the catch. However, Sarkar was caught at mid-on by Shivam Dube.
