After taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing three-match T20I series against the Windies, Team India is looking to whitewash was the series at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. After winning the toss, the Windies skipper, Carlos Brathwaite decided to bat first keeping the slow nature of the pitch in mind. However, Carlos’ decision was justified as they reached the total of 181/3 in their quota of overs. However, Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma made two changes in the squad with Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar replacing Jsprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav. 

Coming into the chase, the men in blue were reduced to 51/2 after the powerplay of 6 overs as they lost Rohit and KL Rahul quite cheaply. However, Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant stiched a 100+ runs partnership for the third wicket when they smashed 18 runs against the fiery Windies pacer Oshane Thomas in the 11th over which changed the momentum completely in India’s favor.

On the third ball of the 11th over, Pant cleared the square leg boundary despite losing his balance he managed to make the required connection. The ball was climbing up at Rishabh’s waist and swung hard from under it for a huge six. As a result of that humungous six, Thomas bowled a no-ball on the penultimate ball of the over and the free-hit was meant to be faced by Dhawan.

Shikhar made full use of the free-hit as he swung his bat hard to score a huge six over deep mid-wicket. Oshane felt the heat after that shot after bowling a length ball at leg stump. Dhawan stood deep in the crease, cleared the front leg and lets go of years of technical training as he slugs this like its gully cricket.
