During the 1st innings of Sri Lanka of the third and the final Test against India in Delhi, Indian team’s catching was pretty demoralizing as they dropped catches of batsmen like Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal, who went on to score centuries.
Both Mathews and Chandimal were dropped a couple of times which helped them to score centuries. The both stitched a partnership of 181 runs for the 4th wicket. But, the partnership was broken by none other than India’s dependable spinner, R Ashwin just a couple of overs before Tea on Day3.
In the 98th overs, Ashwin came round the wicket and the ball took the outside edge of Mathews’ bat and on to Wriddhiman Saha’s gloves who took a stunner and broke the partnership.
Saha took another stunner in the 117th over off the bowling of Ishant Sharma and dismissed Sadeera Samarawickrama. It was a low catch towards the right of the gloveman, who took one of best Test catches in 2017.
