Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s lean patch with the bat hasn’t ended at Headingley in the first innings of the third Test against England. He was dismissed by his nemesis James Anderson for seven runs as he was found fishing outside his off stump.
England fans enjoyed a great morning session by their team and they were vocal throughout the time. England pinned India on the mat as soon as the game started. James Anderson removed the in-form KL Rahul for nought before removing Cheteshwar Pujara for one.

The pivotal moment came in the 11th over of the innings when Kohli went on to play a drive but he only managed an edge to the wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, who threw the ball up in jubilation. When Kohli was heading towards the pavilion, England fans were seen giving him a proper send-off.
England’s famous support group Barmy Army posted a video on their Twitter handle, where a sanction of English fans were waving ‘cheerio’ towards the Indian skipper who walked back after scoring seven runs.

Earlier, Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first while naming an unchanged playing XI. Joe Root named Dawid Malan and Craig Overton as the replacements of Dom Sibley and Mark Wood.

Anderson was breathing fire in his opening spell and registered the figures of 8-5-6-3 in his first spell. India were jolted early on with Rahul, Pujara and Kohli back in the hut. Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma spent some time in the middle but the latter’s wicket opened the floodgates.
India further sunk from 67/5 to 67/9 before eventually getting out for 78. Anderson and Craig Overton grabbed three wickets apiece while Sam Curran and Ollie Robinson managed two wickets each.
On Day 2 of the Test, Virat Kohli was seen doing a weird dance on the field and a fan took a dig at him, as he tweeted, “#Kohli belike: Score ho nahi rha chalo ab inko dosra talent dekhata ho”.
