Australia has suffered a big defeat in the second T20 International against West Indies on Saturday. West Indies registered a 56-run win over the Aussies after scoring a huge total of 196/4 in their allotted overs while batting first. Australia could manage only 140 while chasing. While Shimron Hetmyer was named man of the match for his stunning 61 runs off 36 balls, it was the delivery of Fidel Edwards that took the limelight as it removed Aaron Finch.
Finch, who has been struggling a bit, once again fell for 6 whereas his opening partner Matthew Wade was caught out on the second ball of the inning by Cottrell for a duck as well. However, Fidel Edwards started the fourth over while Aaron Finch was on strike. He clean bowled Finch on the very first ball with a full toss delivery, which the Australian captain failed to read. The ball, although, initially landed on Finch’s pad, it then hit directly the stumps.

However, for Australia, only Mitchell Marsh could manage to score a gift. He scored a stable 54 off 42 with 5 fours and a six before getting dismissed. And, with a lack of support from another end, Australia were bowled out for 140 on board. For West Indies, Hayden Walsh claimed three wickets while conceding 29 runs as well.
After the win, Pooran, the winning captain said: “It was nice to see Hetty respond after last night. Batting was an issue, but it was pleasing the way they responded tonight. Dwayne asked the question to Polly and it made sense. It was important to have a right-left combination going and hence I pulled myself back a bit, it was important to keep the partnership going, with the wind factor, we knew if we kept wickets in hand, we could go hard. No information on him as yet, I’ll check on him later (on Edwards). We know how passionate Fabian is, he is working hard on his craft. Someone like Hayden Walsh, he works hard day in and out, nice to see him doing well.”

After the defeat, Australia captain Aaron Finch said: “The wicket didn’t change throughout, it played pretty well. When your two openers get out early, it puts a lot of pressure on the middle order. 100-plus partnership between Hetmyer and Bravo proved to be the difference. It’s always tough to bowl to left-right combination, especially with the wind blowing like that. We will look to comeback well. Need to win 3 more games to win the series, we will keep working hard.”
