Indian all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur had a jumbled start to her ongoing season of the Women’s Big Bash League with the Sydney Thunder. She managed to score just eight runs but made up adequately with some spectacular catch.
On the last ball of the match, she dove forward full length at the long on boundary to catch left-handed Amy Satterthwaite’s lofted drive. She ran a few metres before completing a catch that would have made Jonty Rhodes proud. Satterthwaite was dismissed for five off the bowling of Stafanie Taylor.
Here is the video of the catch:

Kaur also bowled an over, but conceded 16 runs and was hit for two boundaries and a six.
In the season opener, the hosts, Sydney Thunder were down to 41/4 after Harmanpreet. Rachael Haynes scored a fifty and Nicola Carey’s big shots took the Thunder to a formidable 200.
In the chase, Melbourne Renegades were driven on by Jessica Duffin and Chamari Athapaththu’s, but despite their best efforts, they fell 11 runs short in the run chase. Amidst all the big shots in the shortest format of the game, it was the catching also stood out on the opening day of the WBBL.
