Harpreet Brar is going to remember 20th April 2021 forever and will tell his grandkids the story of this day. The day when he dismissed three of the most destructive batsmen of the world. Brar crumbled Royal Challengers Bangalore’s middle-order to take Punjab Kings over the line in the 26th match of the Indian Premier League 2021.

Punjab Kings were asked to bat first and they started off well on the back of some fine stroke-making by KL Rahul and Chris Gayle. The letter got out after making 46 runs but the former was unstoppable. Rahul scored his 25th fifty of the IPL and sent RCB bowlers to all corners of the ground. His unbeaten 91 runs took PKBS to 179/5 in 20 overs.

In response, RCB was chasing the target sensibly. Virat Kohli had spent time in the middle and was looking set to take the chase deep. Then came Harpreet Brar to bowl the 11th over of the match. This single overturned the tide of the game towards PKBS. He clean-bowled Kohli on the first ball of this over. Everyone was waiting for Glenn Maxwell to put on a show against his former team like Rahul and Gayle did earlier today.

But Maxwell received a top delivery from Brar and got cleaned up for a golden duck. He was so shocked with his dismissal that he refused to leave the ground at first instance. However, he left the field after replays confirmed his dismissal.

Brar bowled four more dot balls to complete a double-wicket maiden over. He, then, came to bowl his final over and dismissed the biggest threat of RCB’s batting – AB de Villiers. The match was done and dusted at this point as the rest was the formality. De Villiers scored three runs in nine balls that he faced during his innings.
