Rajasthan Royals (RR) has been going through a rough patch in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane, the franchise has managed to register just one win during the game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Jaipur, but apart from that, it has been dull for them, to say the least. On Thursday, they faced another loss by table-toppers Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by three wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
CSK needed three runs off the final delivery and Mitchell Santner deposited Ben Stokes over the long on fence for a six over the long-on boundary. Stokes was defending 18 runs in the final over and he failed to do so. In the early part of the Super Kings’ run-chase, RR picked up four top-order wickets and got the visiting team on the mat. Nevertheless, Kedar Jadhav and the experienced MS Dhoni had pretty other ideas.

The Royals are currently standing at the seventh position with one win from six matches. Their next match is against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In the meantime, despite the losses, the mood in the RR camp is pretty upbeat, which is heartwarming to see. Recently, Ish Sodhi, who’s yet to play in IPL 2019, and Stokes were involved in a healthy banter. Sodhi, also a New Zealand leg-spinner, lost a bet to Stokes and had to pay the price.
