Around two years back, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni left most of the people amused when he pulled off a no-look run-out during the fourth ODI of the series against New Zealand in 2016. He wasn’t looking at the stumps while affecting the dismissal. Dhoni just collected the ball and threw it back towards the stumps, that went onto making a contact with the stumps resulting in Ross Taylor being dismissed on a score of 35.
Dhoni received immense praise for his efforts as he had to make a correct judgment. His brilliant throw caught Taylor short of his crease by a narrow margin. Here is the video of Dhoni’s brilliance –

On Tuesday, Ishan Kishan, MS Dhoni’s state-mate, tried to imitate him and also succeeded in dislodging the bails but it was a bit late as the batsman was well inside the crease. The incident happened during final of the Duleep Trophy match between India Red and India Blue. Here is the video of the incident –

Incidentally, Kishan is also expected to lead Jharkhand during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018/19. Dhoni had led the team in 2016/17 season but missed the next tournament next season due to South Africa tour. This year, though, he is expected to play for Jharkhand after coming back from Asia Cup 2018.

In the Duleep Trophy final, India Blue and India Red shared honours on day 1 of the game as the former scored 260/5 on the first day. They could have adjudged as the best team on day 1 but a wicket of Anmolpreet Singh (96) just 20 balls ahead of the stumps handed India Blue a bit of advantage.
The Abhinav Mukund-led team will look to get remaining wickets as soon as possible. On the other hands, the batting team will like overnight batsmen Ricky Bhui (53*) and Nikhhil Gangta to add more runs to team’s total.
