England’s recently-appointed Test captain Ben Stokes, and India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah, have been in the limelight since the beginning of the rescheduled fifth Test between the two sides at Edgbaston. Meanwhile, on Day 3 of the match, Bumrah stole the limelight with a sharp catch while diving forward.

However, Team India did well on Day 3 of the fifth and final Test match against England until Jonny Bairstow’s onslaught took place at Edgbaston. The hosts resumed the day on 84/5 and added 65 more runs before losing their sixth wicket as well. Shardul Thakur, meanwhile, gave India the crucial breakthrough in his very first over of the game. And, Ben Stokes got out this way.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah, India’s 36th Test captain, should get equal credit for Stokes’ wicket as well. Although a ball earlier, he dropped a simple catch at mid-off, he did not repeat the same mistake again. In fact, it was quite a stunning catch after Stokes slapped hard at him. He tried to clear over mid-off, but Bumrah dived to his left to take the stunner and send him into the dugout. With that, Stokes departed after scoring only 25 off 36 balls.

Meanwhile, England posted 218/6 after Ben Stokes’ wicket. Later Jonny Bairstow took the charge, scoring 106 not out off 140 balls. And, England Cricket’s social media handle shared Stokes’ wicket, captioning: “A pretty special catch. It’s been an enthralling morning.”
