The premier batsman of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), KL Rahul has been enjoying the purple patch right from the curtain-raiser he played against Delhi Daredevils (DD) in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He started the ongoing season of IPL by scoring the fastest half-century in the history and now he has become the first batsman to go past 600 runs this year.
However, his mind-boggling innings have gone to waste in the last few matches. Despite giving perfect starts to his team, the other Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) failed to get their team over the line in the recent matches. On May 16 (Wednesday), Rahul scored a magnificent knock of 94 runs at the Wankhede Stadium while chasing a target of 187 runs against Mumbai Indians (MI).

Unfortunately, he lost his wicket in the penultimate over of the chase bowled by Jasprit Bumrah and the rest of the KXIP batsmen failed to score the remaining 20 runs after his dismissal. As a result, they lost the game by 3 runs and lost their place in the points table. Despite the loss, Lokesh bagged the award for the ‘Most Stylish Player’ of the match and also grabbed the Orange cap.
