The Indian team kept on losing wickets in the middled over as despite being in a commanding position of 97/3 in the 11th over, the men in blue only managed to reach a total of 170 as they lost as many as 7 wickets. Kohli was the third highest scored as he scored 19 of 17 balls.

During the chase, the Windies opener, Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis struggled in the start but they managed to amass 73 runs for the first wicket. Shimron Hetmyer joined Simmons after the dismissal of Lewis in the 10th over. Simmons added 39 runs for the second wicket with Hetmyer and they were going great guns before the latter getting out in the 14th over of Ravindra Jadeja owing to the brilliant catch from Kohli.

On the fourth ball of the over, Jadeja darted the ball outside off and Hetmyer smacked towards the long-on boundary for almost a six, but Kohli ran to his right and throws his body into the air and managed to grab the ball in his hand. The catch becomes more special as the Indian skipper was sliding beyond the boundary but he controlled his arms beautifully so that they don’t touch the rope. Earlier in that over, Jadeja was smashed for a couple of sixes by Hetmyer.
