India and Sri Lanka are involved in an intense fifth day of the opening Test of the three-match Test series in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. With the start of the day, hosts were looking for some runs to escape from an unexpected defeat while only wickets can make a way for the visitors.
Amidst, both teams succeeded in their needs but it was Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who took his team way ahead with a masterful inning. Kohli came out to bat with KL Rahul’s wicket and kept his end tight while he was running out of partners from the other end.
Kohli remained unbeaten on 41 at lunch break, which features some eye-pleasing strokes along the turf. One of them was a textbook style on-drive off Dasun Shanaka on the first ball of 63rd over and the ball sailed away to the fence in no time.

In the process, Virat Kohli brings up his Test century number 18, out of which 11 came as skipper and now sharing this Indian record with Sunil Gavaskar. Also, this was his 50th International century and became the only 8th player to reach there and second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar.
