Early in his innings, India’s deputy skipper Ajinkya Rahane was given LBW off Suranga Lakmal’s bowling on Day 4 of the Delhi Test. After umpire Nigel Llong raised his finger, Rahane decided to go for DRS and the replays showed that the ball was missing the stumps and Jinx, thereby, survived.
As soon as the decision got overturned, captain Virat Kohli, who clapped on and on. But unfortunately, Rahane was soon dismissed when he tried to go aerial soon after, only to find the long on fielder Sandakan who pouched it as safe as a house. He has been woefully out of form and once again he was dismissed on 10 runs.
The hosts did not get off to a blazing start as the in-form opener Murali Vijay was dismissed for 9 runs and the other wicket to fall was of Rahane’s, who has not had the best series by his standards. He scored a total of 17 runs in 5 innings.
