Watch: Mohammad Kaif turns back time, takes 2 brilliant catches

Former India middle-order batsman Mohammad Kaif turned back time and took two stunning catches for the Indian Legends team at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday. Kaif, who is known for being a great fielder whose lighting quick on the ground, showed us glimpses of his past self on Sunday while playing for the India Legends team, participating in a Road Safety series in  Mumbai.

Reminding his fans as to why his fielding was so highly rated Kaif, displayed his exceptional fielding skills on the ground shocking every cricket fan with his fitness at this level. Playing the match at 39 years did not stop Kaif from running yards and sliding on the pitch in an attempt to take a catch.

Mohammad Kaif was fielding for the Sachin Tendulkar led- India Legends team while playing against Sri Lanka Legends on Sunday when he took two sensational catches. His athletic ability helped the Indian legends get rid of Sri Lanka Legends captain Tillakaratne Dilshan and batsman Chamara Kapugedera.

Munaf Patel was bowling his second delivery in the 8th over of the Sri Lankan innings. Sri Lankan captain decided to up the ante and try to hit a big shot. Unfortunately, Dilshan mistimed the ball and Kaif who was standing at the boundary line, ran across the pitch and timed his dive perfectly to complete the catch.

Kaif took the second catch in during the third delivery of the 18th over. Holding the ball was former India pacer, Zaheer Khan.  Sri Lankan batsman Kapugedera flicked a delivery high in the air. Stationed at deep mid-wicket, Kaif ran to his right to complete his second catch.

Cricket fans were mesmerized by Kaif’s excellence and took to twitter and praised the Indian star.

Kaif also contributed with the bat scoring a vital 46 that helped the India legends win the match by 5 wickets. The Indian legends team looks likely to reach the finals which will b hosted at the DY Patil stadim on Mar 22.
