The English opener Alastair Cook has a reputation of himself that he possesses one of the most sound batting technique in the world cricket and the same has helped him amass as many as 12,145 runs in 156 Tests. He also has 32 centuries and 56 half-centuries, which is a testimony of his attributes as a batsman. However, in the last one year, the bowlers have somehow managed to find a way of pinning Cook, Mohammed Siraj became the most recent one.

A couple of weeks ago, England A and India A locked horns in an unofficial Test in Taunton. The visitors didn’t have much to cheer as they lost the match by 253 runs. Cook, who also played the match, looked in menacing touch. He played a knock of 180 runs in the first innings before being cleaned up by Ankit Rajpoot. In the second innings, he couldn’t replicate his form as Siraj accounted for his wicket.

The tall fast-bowler ran in as Cook took guard and prepared himself to play the delivery. Siraj delivered from close to the stumps and dished out a back-of-a-length ball. Alastair got stuck on to the front foot, but his movement wasn’t convincing. He tried to get in the line of the delivery and attempted to defend the red cherry. The ball pitched on and about middle-stump and jagged back a wee bit and that was enough to bamboozle the southpaw. The ball went past his bat and pad and thrashed into the stumps. Following the dismissal, the bowler jumped in the air and pumped his fists.

Cook was a tad surprised and while making his way from the middle, he tapped on the pitch to check what made the ball to move back. Recently, Siraj posted a video of the dismissal. He took to Instagram and wrote, “#bowled #cook #indiaA🇮🇳 #bleedblue @indiancricketteam”. Here is the video:
