India and England are battling hard in a gripping final day where all three results are possible. Team India needed 10 wickets while England were 291 runs behind the target. Both teams can see a win and this makes the final day even more fascinating.
The pitch is still quite batting friendly and the England openers made merry with the wicket as Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed shared 100 runs for the opening wicket. Burns got out after his fifty giving India their first breakthrough.

Haseeb Hameed could have been out as well had Mohammed Siraj not spilt an easy catch at mid-on. Ravindra Jadeja was the unlucky bowler.
In the 48th over, Hameed tried to break the shackles after facing several dot balls and slogged across the line. He hit it towards mid-on where Mohammed Siraj was stationed, who reacted a bit late and the ball burst through his hands. Hameed was batting on 55 at that time.

Earlier, Shardul Thakur removed well-set Rory Burns who notched up his fifty a ball before. Burns and Hameed scored 100 runs for the opening wicket and took England to a great start in their pursuit of 368 runs. Shardul bowled a beautiful ball which seemed away after pitching.

Later on, Hameed and Dawid Malan were involved in a mix-up as the latter got run-out giving India their second breakthrough of the day. By the lunch break, Joe Root (8) and Hameed (62) were batting in the middle with England’s total being 131/2. They still need 237 more runs to win in the remaining 63 overs while India are 8 wickets shy of the victory.
