Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has always bee known for his jovial attitude. On Saturday, the fans got another testimony of the same. After CSK defeating Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at home, he was in a cheerful mood. t was a clinical effort from the hosts as they showed once again why they have won three IPL titles as they successfully defended 160 runs against a team which has the likes of Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, and David Miller.
The Chennai pitch was assisting the bowlers more still CSK paced their innings brilliantly to post a competitive total of 160 for 3. Faf du Plessis laid the foundation to post a defendable socred with a fine fifty in his first game of the season. Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu then provided the finishing touches by scoring 44 runs in the last three overs. The score turned out to be more than enough in the end.

KXIP had a forgettable start during their chase as they lost Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal for just seven runs on the board. However, Rahul and Sarfaraz Ahmed added 110 runs for the third wicket to revive their team’s hopes. But the CSK bowlers were just too good in the death overs to restrict the Kings XI to just 138. After the game, Dhoni looked cheerful as he was in high spirits.

Dhoni thanked the Chennai crowd for the support before being involved in an adorable sprint with the son’s of his teammates Imran Tahir and Shane Watson. The two boys were contemplating a sprint face-off before Dhoni came running in from behind and challenged the two. He even picked Tahir’s son in his hands while returning to the starting point.
