On Monday, the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) was a nail-biting battle which was finally won by MS Dhoni’s team in the end. CSK eventually won the game by 13 runs, beating DD in the former’s adopted home ground, Pune. Dhoni starred with the bat as he hit a 22-ball 51, to take CSK to a mammoth total of 211. With this ferocious knock, MS also became the captain with most runs in IPL history, surpassing Gambhir in process.
However, in a rare incident, ‘captain cool’ was seen losing his temper when the match was looking to be turning towards the visitors. MS Dhoni got angry after Dwayne Bravo was smashed for consecutive sixes and it was the moment that is worth taking from yesterday’s fixture.
WATCH: Vijay Shankar takes on Dwayne Bravo
It was the 19th over in which the event took place. The bowler was Bravo, who had the responsibility of bowling the penultimate over of the match. A well-set Vijay Shankar smashed a six against the Caribbean all-rounder. For the very next ball, Bravo came up with a slower delivery, to which Shankar went low on his knees and hit it over long-on for yet another maximum. That is when MS Dhoni seemed to have lost it. His exasperated expressions said it all.

CSK got off to a dream start and a credit for that goes to Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson’s power-packed performance at the top. Watson’s innings eventually come to an end on 78 while Faf made a steady 33 that laid the platform for a Dhoni finish. The wicketkeeper-batsman registered a speedy fifty, which included 5 monstrous sixes to finish the proceedings in style powering CSK to a humungous total of 211/4.
In reply, DD didn’t get the expected start as they lost wickets in at regular intervals, which led the required run-rate to creep up. Rishabh Pant’s 79 Vijay Shankar quickfire 51* Daredevils get closer to the target but it was not enough as they ended at 198 for five. This win allows CSK to get a stronghold on their numero uno position on the points table once again.
