MS Dhoni is known for his greatness and immense knowledge of the game. He is also considered one of the best captains in world cricket. While his finishing ability is well known, who doesn’t know his caliber from behind the stumps from where he controls the game and helps the bowlers?

Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja had a phenomenal outing on the field

And, once again it was seen during the match against Rajasthan Royals on Monday, where everyone got to see the Dhoni-Jadeja magic when Dhoni predicted the wicket of Jos Buttler even before the spinner bowled him. From the stump-mic, Dhoni was heard when he was saying to a fielder near him that the ball is dry and will spin.

And soon that happened as Buttler was clean bowled by the spin of Jadeja, who pitched the ball on middle-leg which dislodged the bail of the stumps as Buttler tried to play down the wrong line and mistimed it. And, this sharpness of MS Dhoni has not only helped the Indian team but also an important commodity for CSK.

Here is how MS Dhoni predicted and Jadeja bowled Buttler:

However, Dhoni didn’t have a good show with the bat as he scored 18 runs off 17 balls before mistiming one. But Jadeja certainly had a great time in the middle. He picked up two wickets and four good catches during the match, which helped his side win.

After the win, MS Dhoni said, “I always look at what’s the best at that point of time. I felt Sam bowled really well and Deepak I think he tried the knuckleball too much and felt that a good start (with the ball) was important. It was spinning a bit, I don’t really mind Jos playing the reverse where it’s turning a bit. It’s important to have that sixth bowler, it always helps and it was stopping a bit for spinners. There was slightly less dew than the usual. I felt we should have scored more and try to get as many as possible. A lot has changed over the years and right from the start we kept a very good atmosphere and a lot of the bowlers have been under the pump last year but this time they are enjoying bowling on these wickets.”
