Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is known to wear his love for the army on his sleeves. He has even got the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the territorial army and is a part of the parachute regiment.
Mahi has been awarded the honor for immense contribution in the field of sports and his commitment to the Army on various occasions. talking about the same, he once said, “It’s a real honor as I always wanted to be part of the Indian Army. It’s (joining the Indian Army) something that I always wanted to achieve as a kid and now that I have donned the olive greens, my dream has been fulfilled.”
In fact, he has undergone initial training with the elite para regiment as well. Now, after retirement from the longest format of the game, Mahi seems to be making the most of his break by spending more time with the army and completing his duties as a soldier.
Recently he was in Jammu & Kashmir, interacting with the army people and also giving advice to young and aspiring cricketers from Kashmir.
