Former Indian MS Dhoni was recently seen doing net practice at JSCA Stadium in his home town Ranchi. This is the first time after India’s exit from the semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2019 that he took the field. However, the recent reports have suggested that he will not play a limited-overs series against the West Indies starting next month.
Giving information about Dhoni’s unavailability, a BCCI official said, “They are not available for the West Indies series.” The first match of the series against the Windies will be played on 6 December in Mumbai.

Dhoni played his last match against New Zealand in the World Cup semi-finals in July 2019. He has been away from cricket since then. After the World Cup, the Indian team played limited-overs series against the Windies, South Africa, and Bangladesh, but Dhoni had made himself unavailable for all of these series.
After about four months, watching Dhoni practice on a field like this, the cricket fans also became happy and a lot of reactions started coming of social media. Since the World Cup, there has been a lot of speculation about Dhoni’s future. Many times rumors like his retirement have also spread. However, Dhoni has never said a word about it.
The team’s chief selector MSK Prasad said sometime back that he is focused on the future and Rishabh Pant is his first choice for the shorter format.
