Prithvi Shaw was left fuming when he got run out during the match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. He was well set and had scored his half-century as well, but got out in the unlikeliest fashion. Rishabh Pant was the man at the other end when the miscommunication took place, which resulted in Shaw’s departure from the middle.
Delhi Capitals opted to bat after winning the toss in Chennai. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan gave their team a blazing start with an 81-run partnership for the opening wicket. However, things got slow when Dhawan was cleaned up by Rashid Khan. Pant promoted himself at number three to shape the innings from thereon.

Things looked ugly when Shaw ran for a non-existing single and his partner, Pant, wasn’t even looking towards him. The incident occurred when Jonny Bairstow fluffed a stumping chance to give Pant an early reprieve. However, Shaw looked at it as an opportunity to steal a single and ran half the pitch down. Khaleel Ahmed was quick to reach the ball and gave a simple throw to J Suchith, who did the rest.

The young opener batted well and scored 53 runs in 39 balls, where he hit seven four and one six during his innings. He gave a fast start to his team as he hammered the match’s first three balls for back-to-back boundaries. Steve Smith and Rishabh Pant batted sensibly and took DC’s total to 159/4 in 20 overs.
