Team India has now reached a commanding position in the ongoing second Test against South Africa at the MCA Stadium in Pune. The Indian opener, Mayank Agarwal has once again managed to registered a three-figure mark as he also built a partnership of more than 100 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara to set the tone. The onus will now be on the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli to put a big score and further dent the confidence of the Proteas.
After losing last match’s maestro Rohit Sharma was dismissed early in the innings, Agarwal and Pujara laid a strong partnership to carry the batting unit. While the first session belonged to South Africa for the brilliant display of bowling, India walked away with the afternoon one.

Mayank and Pujara dominated the bowlers as they went for runs on a consistent basis. However, South Africa made a comeback at the stroke of tea with Kagiso Rabada getting Pujara out. Agarwal also followed the suit moments after tea after his second Test century.
The Proteas finally managed to stop the flow of runs with Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane decided to take some time to get going. In the meantime, Rabada gave away an easy boundary courtesy an overthrow. Rahane merely pushed the ball towards the point and looked for a single.

Kohli clearly didn’t respond compelling Rahane to go back. Rabada sensing a run-out opportunity threw the ball which was directionless which awarded India four free runs. While this was not the end as Virat Kohli stole the show with his epic reaction. The India skipper gave thumbs-up to the South African players for gifting four crucial runs during a difficult period of the game.
