After taking an unassailable 2-1 lead by outclassing the opponents in the Mumbai ODI, the Indian team is currently locking horns with the Windies for the fifth and the final ODI of the ongoing five-match series in Thiruvananthapuram. After winning the toss, the Windies skipper, Jason Holder decide to bat first and they dropped Ashley Nurse who got out of the series due to injury.

While the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli announced an unchanged XI. However, the visitors lost too much too many early in the innings as they lost four wickets before the completion of 16 overs out of which two were taken by Ravindra Jadeja. The pitch was looking damp and early in the innings, Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah picked one wicket each in their own first overs.

On the penultimate ball of the sixteenth over, Jadeja bowled a fuller bowl to Shimron Hetmyer, who played it on the back foot as it completely misread the length and was rapped on the front pad. As soon as the bowl hit the pad, Jaddu had a huge appeal, the umpire Anil Chaudhary denied the appeal, even MS Dhoni said that he is not sure about where the bowl pitched, but bowler insisted for a review. The replay clearly showed the ball was pitching in the line only to beat the bat to rap Hetmyer right in front and would have gone on to hit middle and leg. Dhoni chuckles as the umpire over tuns his decision.
