Rohit Sharma, India opener and also the limited-overs vice-captain, shared a cute video of his daughter Samaira playing cricket at home. In the video which was shared on Instagram, Rohit Sharma was seen playing with her and helping hit the ball with a bat. After hitting the ball, Rohit Sharma was seen cheering for his daughter along with other family members. Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Rohit Sharma and many other sportspersons are spending time with his family as well.

Rohit Sharma has been out of action ever since he injured his calf muscle during the final T20 International match of the series against New Zealand. He was ruled out for the three-match One-day International series against South Africa as well. In his absence, Prithvi Shaw was selected as Shikhar Dhawan’s opening partner. However, the series was later called off as a precaution against the coronavirus scare.

Rohit Sharma will next be seen in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians if the cash-rich league starts after April 15. In last year’s IPL, Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians to their fourth IPL title and with this, they became the most successful team in the tournament history as well. He played 15 games and managed to score 405 runs at an average of 28.92 and managing a strike rate of 128.57 as well.

Coronavirus has affected not only everyone’s lives but also sporting events across the globe which included the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Earlier the BCCI has postponed the start date of the tournament from March 29 to April 15 as India currently reported 114 positive cases and two deaths for COVID-19 so far. While all the foreign visas have already been put on hold till April 15, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has said that a “truncated IPL” can take place where a minimum 17 days already lost.
