Kerala Kings registered a win in the first match of the T10 League against the Bengal Tigers, but it was Shahid Afridi who stole the show on the opening night in the second game.
Afridi took a hat-trick with the first three balls he bowled in the T10 cricket league as his franchise beat a Maratha Arabians squad led by Virender Sehwag by 25 runs.
Sehwag was the third victim of Afridi’s hat-trick, two balls earlier, Rilee Rossouw was dismissed on the first ball of teh Pakistani all-rounder, caught by a fine diving catch at long on by Najibullah Zadran. Dwayne Bravo became the second victim as he was trapped lbw before Sehwag fell in similar fashion.

Predictably, Shahid took to his responsibility immediately. His mid-innings salvo left Maratha Arabians with no chance of chasing the 122 they needed. “I really enjoyed it, it is totally different. The boys did really well.”
It was, of course, a step into the unknown for everyone. Pakhtoons’ total of 121 for 4 had proved well beyond the reach of the Arabians.
