Amid the ever-throwing threat of the coronavirus pandemic that has brought the world to a standstill, veteran Ranji player, Sheldon Jackson on Wednesday did his bit by taking to the streets and helping the needy by feeding them. Following the 21-day lockdown in India, citizens are still wandering on the streets in order to reach their village as they have no work and are finding themselves stranded with no food and shelter.

Wearing a mask, Sheldon Jackson took to his social media handles and shared a video with his fans where he is on the road, helping citizens. Captioning the video, he wrote, “It takes grace to remain kind, in cruel situations.”

During the testing times, most cricketers and athletes have been doing their bit and making a contribution to bring about a change.

From India skipper Virat Kohli to Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma, among others made donations in various schemes while the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also contributed ₹51 Crore to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund. Meanwhile, Jackson, who is supposed to feature in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) may have to miss it this year as the event may get canceled.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus positive patients in India went past 1900 with 50 people losing their lives on Thursday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The entire world is slowly moving towards a lockdown due to the scare of the ever-escalating situation concerning the World Health Organisation-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus. Everything- schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, gyms, sporting events, movies, offices- have been put under lockdown as the world continues to self-isolate in order to control the pandemic.
