Watch: Shreyas Iyer Working Out To Regain Fitness

Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer copped an injury during the One-Day International series against England and missed all the cricketing action since then. He has undergone successful surgery and is on the road to recovery. The injury ruled him out of all the remaining games against England as well as the Indian Premier League 2021.

Iyer has started his rehabilitation at his home during the lockdown and was seen training to regain his fitness in a video shared by him on Twitter.

He posted his video on social media, where he wrote, “Work in progress. Watch this space.”

Iyer suffered a subluxation of his left shoulder while fielding against England in the first ODI in Pune. He was subsequently ruled out of the remaining two games and then IPL 2021 as well, with Rishabh Pant taking over the reins of the Delhi Capitals in his absence.

The middle-order batsman was in good form before getting injured in March. Team India is scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka for white-ball cricket. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to send a second team to Sri Lanka as India’s first team will be in England preparing for the forthcoming Test series against the hosts.

Meanwhile, the fans wished Iyer a speedy recovery and urged their will to see him back against Sri Lanka in the coming days.

India will tour Sri Lanka for three ODIs and five T20Is in July.
