Notably, New Zealand has posted 378 in the first innings where Devon Conway has made records after smashing his maiden double century on his Test debut as well. He scored 22 fours and a six at The Lord’s Cricket Ground. Meanwhile, his partner Henry Nicholls has showcased his class by hitting 61 including 4 boundaries.

However, New Zealand’s tail-ender Neil Wagner has scored 25 off 21 balls including 3 fours and a six and his six came off Broad in the first innings. And, Stuart Broad too has responded well. Ollie Robinson claimed 4 wickets and as England bowlers restricted New Zealand inside 400. Apart from that, Mark Wood and James Anderson picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively as well.

However, during England’s first innings, Stuart Broad took the limelight away from others when he hit a maximum off Neil Wagner’s bowling. While Wagner didn’t expect Broad to hit a six off his bowling, he bounced back well. Neil Wagner had the last laugh by crashing the stumps of Stuart Broad as well. This was one of a stunning return by the bowler. Meanwhile, Broad could manage to score 10 runs only.

“To reach the final of WTC, the results they needed for a long period. You have to force the situations in Test cricket to garner success in the longest format of the game. Both captains have pushed their teams to excel, and I believe they rightfully deserve the opportunity to play in the final,” McCullum further added.
