Much-awaited rescheduled fifth Test between India and England is currently taking place at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground. However, India have a 2-1 lead against England in the series before it was postponed last year following the COVID-19 outbreak in the Indian camp. Meanwhile, India have posted over 400 runs in their first innings. While the hosts struggled in the middle, former India captain Virat Kohli made headlines with his sledging.

However, it happened against England batter Jonny Bairstow, who had played a pivotal role in England’s win against New Zealand as he smacked 377 runs in four innings, including two centuries and an unbeaten 71. Bairstow was hence supported to emulate the same against India as well, but he was seen struggling against Mohammed Shami, who was simply amazing on Saturday.

And watching Jonny Bairstow struggling to middle against the India pacer, former skipper Virat Kohli sledged him using the New Zealand player Tim Southee’s name. It took place at the end of the 14th over as the stump mic picked up Kohli’s words as well. He said, “Little bit faster than Southee, eh?”

Despite Shami’s stunning spell, he managed to return with only one wicket of Jack Leach. On the other hand, India captain Jasprit Bumrah dismantled the top order line-up, picking all three wickets while Mohammed Siraj scalped another as England went five down for 84 at the Stumps on Day 2 as well.
