Howveer, after the match, a shot from Beaumont went viral where she rolled back into her crease and went beyond her stumps to pull a ball to the boundary for a boundary as well. Though Shafali Verma tried her best to stop the ball from going for the boundary, she failed to do that and it eventually touched the boundary rope.

After the convincing win, England captain Heather Knight said: “Really pleased with the girls. After the game at Hove, we wanted to take more responsibility. Happy for Danny, she had worked really hard and it’s paid off today. We all know how good she is, probably hasn’t scored as many runs as she could in the last 18 months. She put her head down and did what she does well – she loves being aggressive and scoring boundaries. It was brilliant to have that Test match, created a lovely narrative for the entire multi-format series. India have played really well, challenged us and put us under pressure. We’ve done well to respond to it. We’re very close (to being the team we want it to be) and the girls are all pushing each other with their skill levels. That’s what you want it to be.”

On the other hand, India has lost the series across formats as well. And, after the defeat, Harmanpreet Kaur, the India T20 captain said: “Firstly, we’re thankful to the support we’ve got in all the games from the crowd. But yes, it was disappointing to not finish with a win. We could have scored a bit more runs with the bat and then dew made it tough in the second innings. Someone had to bat till the very end, it was something we had talked about but didn’t happen today. Hopefully, it will come off soon. They (Richa and Shafali) are really good, performing whenever they are getting opportunities. Hoping that they continue it. Always nice to play a multi-format series like this, gives more importance to each game. Hopefully, we get better as a team.”
