To pay a tribute to the Armed Forces Week, Team India sported the Armed Forces badges on Saturday, on Day 1 of the third Test against Sri Lanka.
Indian players were seen wearing the badge, which is placed just below the white shirts’ crest, to celebrate the Armed Forces Week. The Armed Forces Flag Day has been observed on December 7 since 1949 throughout the country to honor the martyrs.
The third and the final Test between India and Sri Lanka started on Saturday at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi with the hosts having the lead of 1-0 lead in the series which could have easily been 2-0 as they were at 245/2 at end of the 2nd session of the first day.
India opted to bat after winning the toss and made two changes to their playing XI. Shikhar Dhawan replaced KL Rahul while Mohammed Shami has been included in place of Umesh Yadav.
