The young spinner Ravi Bishnoi has made his debut in the first T20I between India and West Indies in Kolkata. While he made headlines with his stunning spell, he also made one unintentional mistake. He caught Nicholas Pooran while fielding on long-on but he touched the fence after that and the batsman got saved eventually.
After having struggled initially, Kyle Mayers and Nicholas Pooran were building a partnership slowly. Veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal came to bowl in the seventh over and Nicholas Pooran was on the strike. Pooran tried to hit the first ball over long-on for a big shot but debutant Ravi Bishnoi caught it at long-on. However, he by chance stepped on the boundary rope behind him as well.

However, Ravi Bishnoi won the Player of the Match after his stunning spell of 2 for 17. After the win, Ravi Bishnoi said: “Feeling better now (no nerves). It’s a dream to play for India and it felt good. I was nervous at the start but wanted to contribute for the team as we know West Indies is one of the strongest teams in T20 cricket. It’s slightly a challenge to grip the ball when there’s dew. I never thought about this (winning the MoM) but it’s a dream come true moment for me.”
