Many times we have seen big hits on no-ball but there are hardly a few times when these big shots can be restricted too. One such incident was seen during the second game of the IPL 2021 between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals when Marcus Stoinis conceded a four on the free hit. However, which left everyone shocked was Amit Mishra’s fielding as he failed to restrict an easy boundary which left the Aussie all-rounder annoyed too.
It happened in the 13th over of the game when Marcus Stoinis came into bowl. At that time they were needed a breakthrough immediately. But he starts off in a bizarre manner that not only he bowls a beamer but he gave away a maximum too with Ambati Rayudu smashed on the loose ball. And, the next ball too went for a big shot as well.
However, Marcus Stoinis rolled his finger and beats Rayudu as it hit his ribs. Since it was wide enough of Rishabh Pant, he failed to grab it. But, it would have been stopped as two fielders were running behind it. But Amit Mishra didn’t run fast after the ball which was also going slow but eventually touched the rope. While Rahane had nothing to do, Stoinis conceded a boundary in a most unlikely fashion.

Soon after the camera pan on Marcus Stoinis as he was left miffed as it could have been saved. Even, Rishabh Pant too was surprised to see the fielding.

Chennai Super Kings eventually posted a huge total of 188 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs which came on the back of Suresh Raina’s blistering fifty (54 off 36) which included 3 fours and 4 sixes and Sam Curran’s quickfire 15-ball 34 with 4 fours and 2 sixes as well. Apart from them, Moeen Ali scored a blitzy 36 off 24 with 4 fours and 2 sixes and some 20 odd runs from Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja too helped them put up a decent competitive total.
For Delhi Capitals, Chris Woakes and Avesh Khan claimed 2 scalps each.
