The Big Bash League (BBL) has seen another interesting incident when Xavier Crone has denied his maiden BBL wicket. It happened in the 14th over of the game when Perth Scorchers’ skipper Ashton Turner tried to pull a short delivery off Crone and seemed like it went to wicketkeeper Joe Clarke with a slight nick as well.

Umpire Oxenford has also raised his finger to adjudge the batsman out when Turner pointed towards his helmet and the rest of the incident has left everyone surprised, including the captain of Melbourne Stars, Glenn Maxwell. However, the official Twitter handle of Big Bash League took to Twitter and shared the video as well.

Meanwhile, Turner then added 19 more runs before getting run out on 27. Kurtis Patterson was the top scorer for his side with 54 from 39 deliveries and helped them post 180 as well. Colin Munro also smashed a 20-ball 40 comprising four maximums as well.

In reply, Stars were bowled out for 130 as Tymal Mills claimed three while Andrew Tye and Peter Hatzoglou added two each as well. Openers Joe Clarke and Thomas Rogers stitched 78 for the opening wicket for Melbourne before they reduced to 115 for five in no time, eventually losing all of their wickets for 52 runs as well.

“Four of our bowlers are in the top 10 wicket-takers so that’s good. I played grade cricket in Melbourne, so I knew what these new guys can do. you don’t want to lose a match against a bunch of guys who are untested,” again added Hatzoglou, who bagged the Player of the Match award for his 2 for 27 in his four overs spell. “There’s always pressure in the Big Bash. Different nervousness levels in different stages of the game. But I just chat with the seniors, gives me confidence.”
