WATCH – Virat Kohli Apologizes to Fans For RCB poor performance

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) captain Virat Kohli has expressed his disappointment as RCB delivered a poor performance in IPL 2018 as they failed to even reach the playoff stages of the ongoing edition of the IPL.

Kohli to micro-blogging site Twitter to apologize to the fans and said that he was ‘deeply hurt’ with the brand of cricket that his team played throughout the season of the cash-rich T20 extravaganza. He posted a video on social media and his post read: “I really believe in the concept of, “you either win or you learn”. We fought hard and gave it our all but one thing is for sure, next season we definitely will bounce back stronger than ever with our learning from this season.Take care.”

In the video, Virat can be heard saying, “We could not pull our way and we are not very proud of how the season went for us. I’m deeply hurt by how we played… deeply sorry for not living up to the expectations of the fans.”

He also added, “Having said that, it is all a part of life and you cannot always get what you want. It’s up to the players to understand what to do about this the next season, really want to turn things around next season. Next year, we will be putting in more effort.”

Kohli’s finished the league stages at the sixth position in this year’s IPL points table and on the personal ground, he is all the sixth highest run-getter in the tournament so far. He has amassed as many as 548 runs at an average of 54.80 in 14 matches. AB de Villiers stands ninth in the same list with 480 runs at an average of 53.33. And apart from these two, RCB failed to find match-winners throughout the course of the 11th edition of the IPL and wasn’t able to seal a place in the last four.
