Watch: Virat Kohli asks Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna to target outside off-stump in nets

Star India batter Virat Kohli is making sure that he gives his best for the fourth match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The Boxing Day Test match between the teams will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne from 26th December. However, Virat Kohli has come under the scanner after managing of low scores in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. After hitting a century in the first match of the series at Perth, he hasn’t been at his best and has struggled to score in the last two games.

Kohli, since the last two games, has been getting out to the balls outside off. He has struggled to get going, and his poor approach with the balls outside off has seen his dismissals in the last two matches in Adelaide and the Gabba as well. In the pink-ball Test at Adelaide Oval, he edged one off Mitchell Starc and then Scott Boland. In the Gabba Test, he got out off Hazlewood.

However, to hit the balls outside off stump, Virat Kohli is preparing well. In the practice session on Tuesday (24th December), his main focus was how he looked to negotiate the threat ahead of the MCG Test as well.

Kohli asked pacers Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna to bowl to him outside off stump as well. And, he was also seen asking the pacers to bowl fast as he complimented them for bowling well and practised with was extra bounce. Kohli, in the last 4 innings, has scored only 26 runs as Australia pacers have managed to dismiss him cheaply.

However, Virat Kohli has a great track record at the Melbourne Cricket Ground where he has scored 316 runs from six innings which came at an average of 52.66. During his last visit, he scored 82 runs in the first innings, followed by a four-ball duck in the second innings as well.
