And, the BCCI shared a video where Virat Kohli can be seen bowling which was a bit sharply and Rahul somehow managed to defend on time as well. While the full delivery couldn’t be seen, BCCI shared the post with a nice caption. They wrote: “Captain vs Captain at the intra-squad match simulation. What do you reckon happened next?” the BCCI post read. Three options were also given in the post – Straight-drive (OR) Defense (OR) LBW.”

However, youngsters like Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant have scored well which will give them confidence prior to the mega event. While Gill scored 85 off 135 balls, Pant took the charge with a whirlwind 121* off 94 balls as well. On the other hand, veteran pace bowler Ishant Sharma claimed three wickets while conceding 36 runs.

However, the Kohli-led Indian team will take on New Zealand in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) from June 18 at Southampton. After that, they will play a five-match Test series against England as well. Meanwhile, Kohli has come under the scanner for not winning any ICC title yet.

And, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has compared Virat Kohli and his situation of not winning ICC trophies to the legendary Argentina footballer Lionel Messi. He further added that the WTC final of any big events is the real tests of legendary players.

“Look at Sir Viv Richards. He always used to perform on big occasions. The WTC final will be a great opportunity for Kohli to score a ton and lead India to a trophy. He’s already among legends but leading India to the WTC trophy will be one more feather in his cap. A podium like this is a great chance for Kohli to enter into the club of ‘all-time greats’. He’s got the ability to do that. He just needs to manage his talent according to the situation,” Ramiz Raja said in a conversation with India TV.

“Some big names like Lionel Messi are still yet to win major silverware with Argentina. It’s all about temperament. Performing in big games like a World Cup final proves a player’s mettle,” Raja concluded.
