Yuvraj Singh has been one of the vital cogs of Team India’s line up during his playing days. His contribution to the cricketing world – be it for Indian cricket or the franchise cricket league like the Indian Premier League was always praiseworthy.

However, the former India all-rounder is the first and only batsman to hit the fastest fifty which came in just 12 balls in T20Is. The cricket fraternity saw Yuvraj Singh doing his best in the T20 World Cup match against England in 2007 as well. His 6 sixes came in an over off Stuart Broad’s bowling. The stylish left-hander also impressed everyone in the Indian Premier League.

However, while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2014 season, he put up a great show against Delhi Daredevils. Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to score a huge total of 186 for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Yuvraj Singh, however, top-scored with an unbeaten 68 off just 29 balls as well. Meanwhile, his star-studded innings was comprised of 1 boundary as many as 9 sixes at a strike rate of 234.48 as well. On the other hand, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) bowlers failed to restrict the opponent.

However, during the 38th game of IPL 2014 between RCB and DD, Yuvraj Singh showcased his class in the last over off Rahul Shukla. Sachin Rana had scored a single and gave Yuvraj the strike. He smashed a hat-trick of sixes followed by a dot ball and then finished the over with another six as well. While chasing, Delhi Daredevils could manage to score 170/7 in their allotted 20 overs. As a result, RCB won the game by 16 runs as well.

As far as the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League is concerned, the BCCI and the IPL governing council has decided to call off the tournament for an indefinite time period after many players got infected by the coronavirus inside the bio-bubble.

It started with Kolkata Knight Riders’ Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep warrior and later Chennai Super Kings’ bowling coach L Balaji, SunRisers Hyderabad’s Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals’ Amit Mishra too joined in the infected players’ list which led the board to take the decision to call it off now.
