The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has affected the world severely. It has brought the world to a standstill with many countries being completely lockdown for safety and to contain the spread of the virus. India’s World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh took to social media and decided to shed some positives vibes among his fans. Yuvi decided to show the humility and the politeness of the Indian law enforcement officers who are risking their lives in order to help others in need.

Yuvraj Singh shared a video on Instagram, that has been going around and became a viral one in the past few days.  He is seen sharing heaps of praise on the group of policemen for doing a noble deed and helping a poor man by feeding him food.

The Punjabi all-rounder captions, “It’s heartwarming to see such an act of humanity shown by these policemen. Much respect for their act of kindness during these tough times and for sharing their own food,” former India all-rounder captioned the video, along with trending hashtags: “#StayHomeStaySafe” and “#BeKind” on the video.

With India on a 3-week lockdown till April 14, many Indian athletes from BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, Gautam Gambhir and other prominent cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, the Pathan brothers, Irrfan and Yusuf have donated money and decided to help the local governments fight the COVID-19 virus. Yuvi’s fellow Punjabi allrounder Harbhajan Singh has also pledged to support 5000 families in such torrid times.

In a Videoconference call addressed by India Prime Minister Narendra Modi,  Yuvraj Singh was a part of 40 elite sportspersons of the country who attended this meeting. Modi interacted with the sports personalities and shared how they could help him and the government to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Earlier, World Cup winner got trolled as the all-rounder supported the Afridi Foundation and urged others to step forward and contribute to the same. While Afridi thanked the two, Indian Twitter users reacted with anger and started sharing hate comments on Yuvraj Singh for supporting a rival player.#ShameonYuviBhajji was trending on Twitter with  50k tweets on Wednesday because of the same.

The left-hander hit back at trolls with a tweet that read, “I really don’t understand how a msg to help the most vulnerable people get blown out of proportion. All I tried to achieve through that message was to help people in our own respective countries by providing healthcare, my intention was not to hurt anyone’s feelings. I’m an Indian and I will always bleed blue and will always stand for humanity. Jai Hind.”
