A couple of days ago, the well-known airlines, Jet Airways suspended its’s complete fleet due to the cashflow crunch and the passengers who had booked tickets beforehand have suffered. Among all, even the Indian cricket team has also been suffering because of the same as the BCCI had booked their tickets to travel to England on May 22 for the upcoming World Cup. The men in blue will be leaving to England on May 22 and now, the BCCI is now looking for other airlines to make sure that the plans aren’t disturbed.
Describing the same to Mumbai Mirror, one of the BCCI officials said, “It’s a challenge but we are addressing it. The team will leave as planned on or before May 22.” Apparently, the BCCI is looking for 30 business class berths to include the whole squad which is tough as the demands are increased for all the airlines with the cancellation of Jet aircraft.

Meanwhile, the recent reports of Mumbai Mirror have suggested that BCCI discussing the thing with Emirates who are also sponsors of the World Cup and Virgin Airways. The Indian team had flown in the Virgin airways itself last time around when the Men in Blue traveled England last summer.
While a few of the support staff members could be adjusted to a different class, the team management needs just 25 members in the business class. BCCI has also planned to send four extra pacers with the team which has increased the need for berths. Even the IPL teams are suffering as Jet Airways used to accommodate extra luggage for majority bookings, the teams are now facing economic and logistical issues both.
BCCI though looks confident of Team India’s travel plans not getting disturbed and they can’t even delay their departure with the team’s first warm-up fixture scheduled to be played on May 25 against New Zealand.
