While England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) was announcing the ICC World Cup 2019, there was only one name in discussions and it was Jofra Archer as they fast-tracked his eligibility to play for England and there was a lot of excitement around his selection. However, his name was missing out from the preliminary squad that was announced on Wednesday but he has been included in the ODI side for Pakistan series.

Currently, Archer his plying his trade Rajasthan Royals (RR) and then he will be proving his worth in England’s final international series before the World Cup commences. ECB has cleared that they will announce their final squad on May 19, one day after the conclusion Pakistan series. Meanwhile, the former cricketer Michael Vaughan is sure of Archer’s selection in the final team.

Vaughan took to Twitter to express his views on the same and shockingly claimed of going naked if Jofra Archer isn’t picked. “Jofra will play at the WC or I will be naked !!!!” Vaughan’s tweet read.

Meanwhile, Archer has expressed his delight after earning a maiden England call-up for the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan. Talking to Cricbuzz, he said, “It feels really overwhelming. I didn’t expect to ever be good enough to play for England until the last couple of years after I started doing well in T20 tournaments and it’s been a whirlwind period for me. It’s really good to be acknowledged for what I’m doing, but it’s hard to put the feeling into words.”

According to the ECB’s direction, the Caribbean pacer will leave India on April 26 and join the English team ahead of the series. The ODI series between Pakistan and England will commence on May 8 before which the Brits are scheduled to play one-off ODI against Ireland and then a T20I against the Men in Green.
