India wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has recently applauded Bollywood superstar and the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders – Shahrukh Khan. He has revealed an interesting incident where he said that Khan once flew him from Chennai to Dubai on his private jet as well.
While speaking on ’22 Yarns with Gaurav Kapoor’, he said that the Bollywood Badshah has a large heart and shared: “There are not many large-hearted people like him in the world right now. And the world needs more people like him. Very genuine, he looks out for you. Whatever happened in my personal life, he flew people over from Chennai to Dubai on a private jet at his own expense for me.”
Notably, Dinesh Karthik plays for the KKR franchise and he was also the skipper of the side till he stepped down midway and Eoin Morgan took the reins.

He further added: “I don’t know how many franchises would do something like that. But that for me was unbelievable, unreal. I didn’t expect it. I had never sat on a private jet in my life. But just the fact that he was able to do that for me and he just completely won my heart over. I could do anything for him, he’s a terrific human being.”
“I had a Vada pav in the streets of Trinidad. He has a massive fan following in Trinidad. Even there, he had to wear a cap. Even though I had a bad memory, there are somethings you can never forget and the time I’ve spent with him it’s fabulous,” Dinesh Karthik expressed.
Meanwhile, Team India has been playing the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. And, prior to that, the captain Shikhar Dhawan on Saturday opened up on a few aspects of the series. He said that the team management will check out if the regular captain Virat Kohli or coach Ravi Shastri has any specific player in their mind for the all-important ICC T20 World Cup.
Notably, Dhawan will lead a rather young squad in the absence of Virat Kohli where six uncapped players have been added in a six-match limited-overs series against Sri Lanka and this is the last chance to check out the players for the selection in the marquee event in the UAE, which is starting from October 17.

“I haven’t had any specific discussion with Virat or Ravi bhai. But I am sure they must have had some sort of discussion with Rahul bhai and selectors and I am sure we would be conveyed that message,” Shikhar Dhawan told the media before the first ODI on Sunday. “Whoever is playing this series, it is looking at T20 World Cup. Of course, if selectors, Ravi bhai or Virat have some players in mind, we can mutually agree and play that player as this is a good platform. If you want to see someone before World T20, this is the only series you have.”
