Pakistan pace bowler Naseem Shah has shared the problem of language and communicating effectively with foreign coaches. However, his comment came as Jason Gillespie prepares to start his tenure as the national team’s red-ball coach. Notably, the men’s team currently has ex-Proteas batter Gary Kirsten as the white-ball coach and former Australia pacer Gillespie in the longest format as well. With Kirsten having the experience, the PCB appointed him after their poor 2023 World Cup campaign.

Speaking during a press conference, Naseem stated, as quoted by cricketpakistan.pk: “There is a language problem with foreign coaches. We need someone to translate the language. It is easier to communicate with the coach in your own language.”

Naseem Shah also shared that Pakistan have been far from the best in the last few months across formats and he believes the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh could be their opportunity to get back in form.

“Yes, our comeback wasn’t great, and we can’t deny that we didn’t play good cricket. Criticism is part of it, and we must endure it until things improve. This is a good chance to bounce back, play better, and show up as a team. That’s what I’m hoping for. I haven’t played red-ball cricket for 13 months; it’s not easy to play after a long time. International cricket has its own pressure; however, we are training hard for it,” Naseem Shah concluded.
