Former India cricketer Karn Sharma, who recently announced his retirement, commented on legendary India captain MS Dhoni’s shock retirement during the 2014-15 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) down under as well. Karn Sharma announced his retirement from all forms of international and domestic cricket recently. He was part of India’s squad during the 2014-15 Australia tour, where MS Dhoni had announced his retirement from Test cricket after the third game of the four-match Test series as well.

“None of us knew that he would retire. He called a team meeting, and we thought it was a normal meeting, but he announced his retirement. Everyone knows that nobody will know what is going on in his mind. He makes decisions that he feels are best for him,” he said during an interview with Revsportz.

However, Karn Sharma spent four years in the IPL with MS Dhoni at the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as well. He also revealed that Dhoni scolded him too, like several other Indian cricketers.

“I have been scolded by him, and if it is beneficial for the team, then it is okay. He has scolded me too, but still you cannot predict what goes on in his mind. I have played with him for four years. Everything was good, but predicting him is not easy,” he said.
“The emotional aspect came out after we won, and Dhoni also said that when we did not play for two years, our followers increased instead of decreasing. So you get to know how much people like CSK. We were called the daddies army and all that, but we just wanted to put in our best effort. I think even in T20 cricket you need that experience and a mix of seniors and juniors. Only those who have the experience can survive tense situations,” Karn Sharma concluded.
